How does a STEM Student Pay for Education with Roblox?
Hard Work and Passion and a STEM Education Can Really Pay Off.
A high school senior in Florida developed a free video game entitled “Jailbreak” using the easily accessible Roblox code. The Roblox platform provides users with a way to program their own games, and this is precisely what Alex Balfanz and some friends did. Later featured on Roblox, the game became wildly popular, and the young man was able to finance higher education through resulting earnings.
Of course, not all involved with Roblox have been quite so successful, but many have done well. The platform has an active following of 150,000,000 users, half of which are adolescents. For those with passion, the potential is there for exceptional outcomes. It just takes people willing to work hard so their vision can be realized, as Alex and his friends did.
Roblox helps people learn, and it’s a very influential tool for individuals seeking to educate themselves on the finer points of gaming design and programming. Make something compelling enough, and you can write your own ticket to the university of your choice, like Alex.
How Do you make money from a free video game?
Why did “Jailbreak” do so well? Well, it’s free to play, but players need to spend money on new vehicles or other accouterments. Since the game is fun, 60,000 people started playing it the day it launched. You can see how the potential for substantial monetary gain blossomed from how Alex and his friends used the Roblox code.
According to Alex, the game would eventually “…top 150,000 concurrent players.” That means 150,000 people would be playing the game at the same time. If each player spent only a dollar a day on new in-game items, that would be $1.5 million every ten days. They don’t really spend at that level, but it’s easy to see how Alex and his friends could profit as they did from their Roblox code-based creation.
